Last Minute Raya Treats (Kuih Raya) !!

Assalamualaikum! Happy 26th Ramadhan! Can't believe how fast time flies!! And Rayaaaaa is jusstttttt around the corner!

Have you prepared your kuih raya?? My family and I, this year, we don't really spend much on kuih raya. We plan to cut the raya costs with the kuih raya. In other words, we don't have much kuih raya this year and all those kuih raya we have are diy-ed. Economy man..you have no choice but to save and save.

So, I'm gonna share with you today, 2 types of the diy-ed kuih raya that we have which are extremely easy. I'm sure that many people will love it, especially you, the chocolate lover! *point finger* haha. I mean like, unless you're making business with kuih raya, why bother spend so much time making them. haha. I am THAT lazy. pfft! Hence why they are great for last minute preparation too; great additions to your kuih raya collection haha.

1) Pretzels

Ingredients:

the pretzels, of course. :P

chocolate compound or chocolate chips. you're going to melt it anyway, so it doesn't matter. there are so many types of chocolate; milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, even various flavoured chocolate, anything will do.

and non-stick baking paper.

Procedures:

melt your chocolate compund on the double boiler or using the microwave (if you have one) until it is completely liquidified.

then, dip the pretzels into the chocolate. (you can dip each pretzel just half or just throw all of the in the chocolate; the lazy Najlaa's style hahaha)
Tips: let the chocolate cool down just a little bit before dipping for the right consistency.

then, just leave them on the non-stick baking paper for about a few minutes until the chocolate hardened at room temperature or put them in the refrigerator (depending on the type of chocolate. some harden fast while some take so long)

practically, we're done!! they are good as they are. I swear it's one the easiest thing I have ever do in my life! haha. you better make it yourself!!

To make them look better, shape the edges for the neat finish. If you want them to look extra pretty, just sprinkle any kind of sprinkles you have. If you're using the strawberry flavoured chocolate you won't even need it but if you use like milk, dark or maybe white chocolate, sprinkles will definitely enhance the visual. huhuhu.

2) corn flakes

this, is I'm sure the must-have kind of kuih raya to most house. so, yeah, everything below is self explanatory. use the chocolate compound or honey, mix them until combined then put in the small paper cups with a little sprinkles on top. you can leave them like that or put into the oven for about 10 minutes for better adherence.

That's all for todayyy!
I'm so excited for raya, can you tell?! haha
Until next time, lovelies.

Assalamualaikum, Hiiiiiii!!

How are youuu??
How's raya preparation? hehehe. Me? Great! I'm preparing so much like never before! haha. Embrace yourself, more raya-themed posts are coming up!! hehehe. I'm so much overwhelmed with the raya spirit! Especially after I went to 1 Utama Meriahnya Syawal event few days ago! Have you went to 1 Utama just recently?? If you haven't, you should have! At the LG Oval Concourse, they sure have set up very impressive Raya props! The details are amazing! Hat's off to the decor team! They sure have consider EVERYTHING! Everywhere is pose worthy, I kid you not!

The overview from the above! Looks like raya is really happening! *excited!XD*

They have so many of these star-shaped lights hanging here and there! So pretty! Raya has always been synonym of stars (though I honestly have no idea why it is that), they sure enhance the mood! heee >_<

Okay, so this is what they have in the as the main of the area. It's the traditional kampung house called Penghulu house. Up close? The details are so amazing!

This is totally a rumah kampung!! Looks so real, isn't it? With the bougainvilleas and everything, it reminds me of my kampung!

Another view of the Rumah Penghulu. Can you spot the vespa scooter??

There are few vespa scooters here and there. Can it get any retro?

It can! With these bicycles!! Haven't seen them for ages! I don't think there's anyone who is still using it.

Vintage looking knick-knacks corner

The grassy pathways. They're real grass!

Wait, what?! Oh yes, you read that right. To get the authentic feel, they actually planted real grass!

What else do kampung people do when Raya is around the corner??

Make dodol and lemang!
It's not a familiar view anymore (at least to me it is not) due to time constraint, lack of skill, no space to spare  etc etc . My family and I usually just buy the ready made lemang and dodol T_T. Too bad, right?! Just act and pose there pun okay laaaaa. hahaha >_<

It's great if you can take pictures with these mascots too! They 're just too cuteee^^! Baju melayu and baju kurung? Even cuter! hehe

Raya just can't happen without food! I mean, a lot of food! hehe. Therefore, you can look forward to F&B highlights, exciting cooking demonstrations by Malaysian Culinary Masters, as well as buka puasa fare here in 1 Utama.

The Mutiara Abyra Foundation | Beauty Review

Assalamualaikum!
Good day! Feel so good to finally be blogging again. hehe.
I'm back with a makeup review for you guys! heeee.

About two weeks ago, Jane from Babeskin sent me The Mutiara Abyra Foundation to be reviewed.

So.. to start with, let's talk about my first impression on the packaging. In a pretty peach, slightly embossed square box, contains a plastic product container of almost an exactly same size as the box. Pretty nice packaging I would say; sleek black and white packaging with the pearl image (suits the name 'mutiara') on it, compact and sturdy.

I love the cool magnetic lid! Inside, there is a separate product and the sponge part. The product's net weight is 8 grams which is a very decent amount that could last long, but, the sponge is quite small for my liking.

I received the foundation in the shade NUDE BEIGE which is just slightly lighter than my natural complexion.

The Mutiara Abyra Foundation is a kind of the Two Ways Cake Foundation that can be used dry or wet.

it is said to have UV protection but it is not stated clearly like how much spf or pa etc

Note that this product contains 2 kinds of paraben which I believe is the common kind of paraben that is used as an effective preservatives and correlated with a low incidence of contact dermatitis. after all, even Cetaphil contains paraben as well, right?

It is also stated that this foundation contains perfume, but I don't really smell anything out of it, maybe because I don't know how it is supposed to smell but there is nothing unpleasant about it, just like how a typical powder foundation  should smell without the chemicals. na da. (Y)

Claimed to be formulated to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines while creating a natural matte finish for the face and I agree to it. It instantly brighten up, reduce redness and mattify my complexion.

my skin is in the worst state it can ever be these days! blame the combo of high stress level because of my final year project, viva and thesis, disturbed beauty sleep and the imbalance female hormone haha. I have got no time to actually care but thanks to this foundation, I get to cover up in instance so I don't irritate other people's eyes haha.

#nofilter #samelightingokayhaha

medium coverage (sheerer effect) is achieved by applying just the powder with the dry sponge. it feels very dry especially if you have dry skin and it is not moisturized well therefore I would say that it is more suitable for those with normal to oily skin.

on the other hand, full coverage is achieved when you apply it with the dampened sponge. can be quite cake-y if you apply a lot. so.. yeah.. don't do that. haha.

besides, it lasts all day long!

Close-up!

this, doesn't break me out even more, so that's cool!!

Overall, I would rate this product with 4/5 stars! It is really worth trying!

Retailed for RM39 (Peninsular Malaysia) or RM49 (East Malaysia), you can place your order through the facebook page Babeskin365Official . :)

These emojis precisely reflect my feelings! hahahaha

Until next time!

Hot Buttermilk Chicken ! - How to

Assalamualaikum! Good Day everyoneeee!

I'm suddenly craving for buttermilk chicken T_T and then I remember I have the recipe draft entry when I last made it.

do you like buttermilk chicken?? if you do, you'll know exactly the problem when eating it; you can't have it too much. it will make you 'muak', feeling sick if you eat a lot. haha. hence, here's the twist to how you can enjoy it fully heeee.

super simple, the key is to make it super hot (only if you can stand the heat) or just hot by including small chillis (not cili padi, I just don't know what kind of cili it is but you'll see the them in a picture below) in the recipe.

I'll show you step by step tutorial and I swear, it tastes heavenly delicious (if and only if you like buttermilk flavour hehe)

Firstly, cut chicken meat into bite sizes. To give additional flavours and texture to the chicken, I fried them briefly after lightly coated them with egg and the seri aji spicy flour mix.

set the chicken aside and prepare the ingredients as below:
garlics, small chilli and curry leaves.

melt some butter

and saute all the ingredients in the butter. okay maybe you need to saute them one by one, I don't know, but I don't care. haha.

then, add ingredients below:
some evaporated milk and a little mozarella cheese

adjust the flavour with some salt and tadaaaaa! done!!

that's all for today!
thanks for reading!
