Althea Petal Velvet Powder | Review

السلام علىكم

Good Day!

Althea just celebrated their 2nd birthday recently and things are getting a little more exciting than that. They launched their very 1st brand product!! Woot woot! It's called Althea Petal Velvet Powder.

I'm thrilled to be among the first Althea fans who get to try and review it! So honored. Thanks so much Althea for the trust :')

Insta-story

Just who wouldn't feel excited seeing the pink parcel?!! hehe. It gets me EVERY TIME!

So this Althea Petal Velvet powder is a light weight white loose powder that is meant to leave your face a silky finish. It's made with pure, natural ingredients and one of the main ingredients is Althea flower extracts.

Super fine powder. Easy to blend into the skin with just the puff provided, you don't need a brush! Smells amazing too. The floral scent is strong but not too overpowering. I can also smell a hint of citrusy and herbal-y; a calming scent.

Honestly, I am not that kind of person who likes to set my foundation with powder. I only do for few occasions like functions, events or weddings. I liked to have my face looked a little bit 'moist' most of the time. However the problem with that is over time, because of my combination skin type, my T-zone looks more oily T_T

So when I tried this Althea Velvet Petal Powder, it totally changed my minds. I can still set my base lightly and over the time, my face looks even better! no more overly oily but just a little bit satin-y.

I loveeeee the flawless finish it gives to my face!!! smooth and silky! the best part is it still looks natural on the skin; never cake-y.

CLOSE UP!

Hands down. I'll forever be an Althea fan! haha.

This product is
priced at: RM16
so you can shop at: www.althea.kr / althea apps
now to get it hehe.

Thanks for being here!

Until next time!

XOXO

Natural Makeup Look with 1028 Visual Therapy Makeup Collection | Tutorial + Review

السلام علىكم

Hi! How's Raya preparation going?? Omggg Rayabis tomorrow! My Raya this year is going to be a whole lot different with the presence of our baby Amaan Arjuna! hehe. It's going to be challenging too! haha

Therefore I will opt for a quick, simple and natural looking makeup look this Raya! FYI, I am especially collaborating with 1028 Visual Therapy cosmetic, a Taiwanese brand to create this look. you can find all the products mentioned at watson!

Watch me doing the makeup aka so-called tutorial below. It's my first time recording a video like this so pardon my noob video okay haha.

Products Reviews

1) Moisture Infusion CC Essence Cream SPF30 PA++

Packaging:
Comes in a typical plastic tube that is light and thin, easy to fit in a makeup bag.

Texture:
Creamy. Glides smoothly on the skin but doesn't make your face feel sticky after application which I love!! Even though it claims to be hydrating to the skin, it doesn't finish looking like so - it is more matte, feel powdered than I would expect it to be.

Scent:
It has a very strong fragrance; perfume-y which I like! hehe. Some people might not like it but huhu I am a sucker to great smelling products.

Product:
I'd say the coverage it provides is sheer; feels like skin but it really brightens my dull complexion and even out my skin tone. It can used underneath a foundation if you want a higher coverage but I'd still use it individually because it feels lightweight on the skin even after few layers. oh yes, the layering really help to increase the coverage if you need it :)

2) Longwear Eyebrow Definer

Packaging:
Dual end; one with the product which is in rhombus shape or I would call it like khatt (Islamic calligraphy) pencil hehe, the other end is the spoolie brush.

It also comes with a sharpener for that special shape but is pretty useless to me because I just couldn't figure out how to use it haha.

Texture/Colour:
the lead quite not too creamy, sturdy with just the right softness to draw and fill in the brow and is in soft dark brown in colour.

It really helps to seamlessly create that natural brow look. Major loveeeeee!!

3) Mont Blanc Eyeshadow Kit

Packaging:
cute metal box with mont blanc desserts <3

good quality mirror. (Y) comes in 6 pretty earthy tone.

the applicator provided is the spongy tips and a brush tip.

Texture/Pigmentation:
The first eyeshadow from the left is the only matte finish eyeshadow on the pan; the 2nd from left is the most shimmering eyeshadow while the others are all give metallic-y finish. It is not the smoothest eyeshadow but is still soft and not chalky. pigmentation is so-so but is great to create a subtle elegant yet natural look. I personally feel this kit will be great for beginners!

3) Infinity Longwear Black Eyeliner

Applicator:
It comes with a brush tip which is very thin and flexible.

Product:
The brush is great for creating precise lines. From the picture, I showed how thick a single stroke can create. The ink dries instantly after applying and it is totally smudge proof! it's water proof too! this one will be great for beginners too; I strongly recommend!!

Thin line

A more dramatic thick line

4) Miracle Extension Mascara

Wand/Brush:
The curved brush makes it easy to reach all lashes without any contact to the skin. however it doesn't separate the lashes well and they tend to clump. i had to manually separate my lashes with toothpicks haha.

Product:
The product is not so wet, quite velvety and is very sticky making the lashes tend to clump together. I like how black the product is. It made my lashline looks thick and bold. I was expecting there'll be like the fibres in since the product's name has extension word in it however there's none and I don't find it extends my lashes. smudge and water proof but is very easy to remove; can just use warm water to take it off.

5) Ultimate Oil-Control Powder

Packaging:

Cute lil' compact (just a palm size) in pink is made from plastic and comes with a good quality mirror.

Product:
Very soft texture and it is super matte that really helps with the oil control as it claimed. my T-zone definitely needs this and it lasts through out the day. it increase the coverage too!

Tips and Tricks: Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick

السلام علىكم

Hello there!
Happy Sunday!

Let's have a makeup talk today! hehe.
the topic today is the trending matte liquid lipstick or some call with a fancier name like lip cream with a matte finish etc etc. hehe.

It's crazy to see more and more brands (and new brands) are producing this type of lippie; literally like 'cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan'. haha. there comes my malay proverb ^_^". I guess people also like it because, one, it's long lasting, two, it's great pigmentation is a good bonus since you get to save a lot of the product and third, since this lippie dry and set on your lips well, there's little to no transfer happen!

To be honest, I am so behind this trend. haha. It's because I am not very much a fan of matte lippie. I prefer a glossy or at least a little bit moisturized lips look. However I refused to be outdated haha or I don't deserve to be called a beauty blogger. :P Sooo with that being said, here's my first two matte lip cream from NYX and they are in nude and nude pink!

Gorgeous nude indeed, but, it's a bit tricky applying it. Here's to how you can get the perfect nude matte lips look!

Type of makeup

This is rather a personal preference. I find that matte lips suits an overall matte look;  the Korean dewy or watery look don't really match it.

Prep your lips

Chapped or flaky lips often makes the a matte lips look gross! Especially because over the time, the lips get drier and drier and the colour of the lippie will set to the lines of the lips.

So, beforehand, be sure to scrub the lips.

A toothbrush can be the simplest way to scrub the dead skin off your lips.

Or, you can have like a quick treatment for the lips using sugar and honey. They make a great scrub and mask combo not just for the skin but for lips too!

Then, moisturize using a lip balm.

sidenote: Drink a lot of water for pretty,  well hydrated lips throughout the day!

My current go-to everyday makeup look with the all prepped lips for the matte lip cream ehheeheh.

Application

Dab the excess lip balm to the back of your hand then you can apply it straight from the tube. It needs a precise application especially at the edge of the lips. make use of your concealer for a crisp line! hehe.

or.. Enhance the nude lippie colour with a lip tint!

my lips are naturally pale. so a nude lip colour can make me look washed out!! and i found out that a lip tint can become a saviour! hehe.

I used this glossy blaster tint from too cool for school...

... and it really makes a difference!

all done! ^^

YEAY I can now enjoy wearing matte liquid lipstick hehe. I am currently on the move of collecting and searching the best one. Tell me your favourite because I wanna try them all! hehe

Until next time!

K-BEAUTY: THE FUN IN THE PRODUCTS

اسلام عليكم
Hello!!

Finally another entry!! haha

It's K-beauty time baby! wootttsss!!

Even though I am in no way look korean (kuikui), I loveeee Korean make up looks waayyyy better than the western's. They are super duper great at enhancing natural beauty. Refer here for my Korean Inspired makeup look; here, I emphasized the small small steps of korean's apporach with makeup.

I have always been sooo impressed with the Korean beauty technology too. Makeup also has their own technology, I kid you not! Be it the makeup trend, skincare, packaging, products, they are all very creative!! Let's see all the korean beauty products that I own and see how weird, fun, cool and great one product can be!!!

sidenote: these are just the overall views not full reviews of the products. Full review will be in separate entries.

Lip Tattoo
This lip tattoo by blingsome is a kind of lip tint that applies like a glue and leave your lips tinted!! haha! so fun! I remember those days where I put glue on my hand than pull it after it dries like skin! did you did that toooo?!!! hahaha
see what it did to my dull, pale face!!!! Love ittttttttt!! <3

Sheet face mask
Sheet masks don't come in boring white anymore! It's wayyyyyyy better than what you think it can be! it now comes with prints! like these that I had makes me look like a panda and a cool mysterious masquerade girl while it beautify my face! woots!
They make putting on mask is not a chore making yourself pretty, instead, it's a fun activity! especially if you are having a girls time like a sleepover or something like it! the 20minutes waiting time sure will turn into a 20minutes of selfies! haha!

BB cream cushion
Koreans are very much well known with their bb cream cushion. If you never heard of BB cream cushion, it's a product whereby a cushion holds the BB cream for more-saving and better application. The specialty is at the sponge applicator which u will use while dabbing the foundation into your skin. But we cannot ignore the beautiful packaging of this BB cream cushion by Keep In Touch
What's more interesting is that the cushion's cream comes in this weird yin-yang lookalike shape haha. The white portion is the moisturizer while the brown one is the foundation, of course.
First application will sure make like you're printing your face hahah. Then watch it slowly and beautifully blends into skin while dabbing it. How fun haha.

Dual Lipstick
do you know the ombre lips trend? omg i'm head over heels with that look! see my post on ombre here. The look is great but it will require few tricky steps before you can achieve the look but now no moreeee! dual-lipstick is here! how genius. haha.
gradient-lips made easy (Y) (Y)

Lip Crayon
While this lip crayon looks literally like a pen, it behaves just like a real buncho crayon u used to use during psv period in school back then! hehe. in a good way, fyi. if you can imagine the buncho crayon, that's exactly how this lip crayon's texture is.
Highly pigmented with matte finish lips can easily be achieved as I easily fit the sleek pen-sized product in my handbag!

Brush gel liner
it's a gel liner in a pen! There's a brush and sharpener at the end of the liner pen.   detachable - so, easy to clean and be used.

With the brush at the back, the liner can be blended a bit for a more subtle smoky look.

It gives you fuller but subtle lash line too. Perfect for an every-day natural-looking makeup.

Mascara
This mascara is nothing so extraordinary but the packaging and the banana lookalike brush wand. hehe. I'm really appreciating every single details it has to offer hehe. How I wish it smells like banana too! ahhahahaha :P
1 coat and I'm all satisfied with my natural by voluminized eye lashes! muahx

These Korean products' brands are mostly not available in Malaysia and the answer to where I get them from is none other than Althea! No suprise! Althea is my K-beauty products' personal shopper. See my Althea post here.

That is all for today!
Thanks for reading.
Till my next entry XOXO
